The Eagle Has Landed!

Our 39 week long deployment finally came to a close yesterday morning! Yay God! I'm so thankful to have my best friend back home. Tierzah and I both caught a cold/chest congestion the day before he was due to arrive, but as you can see from the pictures...that didn't stop us from being ecstatic when we got to hug and kiss our fearless leader again! ;) The night before I was supposed to pick him up from the airport, I barely slept a wink. I was way too excited, nervous, anxious, and filled with anticipation of how we would all mesh back together.

I asked some friends and family to pray for Tierzah to remember her daddy and give him some good lovin' when she saw him for the first time. I was worried that she wouldn't remember him or that her separation anxiety would kick in when he tried to hold her. Well, it took her a second but look at that HUGE smile on her face! This baby girl LOVES her daddy! Tpot didn't even want to come back to me once she was in the big, strong, arms of her dad. While Stephen was playing with her last night, he said, "Ok, Tierzah, we're gunna teach you how to walk." Then he held out his arms for her to walk to him and said, "Come here, Tierzah!" Wouldn't you know, she totally held out her arms for him with a big smile and took two big steps all by herself! LOL! She's just been waiting for him to come home. :) As we got her ready for bed, Tpot didn't want mommy to rock her to sleep...she wanted daddy to sing her lullabys. It was so precious and perfect.

As the picture shows, I'm SO relieved and happy to have my man home again! We were thinking about how over the past 24 months, Stephen has has been away for 16-17 of them. It will be so nice to have him home for a full year to grow together as a little family. I hope we can treasure each day and treat it as the gift that it is! Praise God for the safety and provision in every way He has given us.

Only by His Grace!
One Happy Girl~ :)
